What is a better pain killer for a HSG, Ibuprofen or Aleve?
I've heard that naproxen (aleve) is a better pain killer for something like a surgical procedure (eg: HSG) and that you should take it about 90 minutes before the procedure, so that it's at full efficacy by the time you go in. Also, be aware that some women will dribble small amounts of dye for the rest of the day. Certainly, it is a mild discomfort for some, but more painful for others. Try to relax throughout (easier said than done, but meditation or visualisation techniques might help) and be sure to take the rest of the day to relax and treat yourself. Good luck!
