Do you like this part of my book?
The bed was huge. There was huge chair and a fireplace that looked like a furnace. I walked over to the fire place. It was bigger than me. There were carvings of monsters in the bricks. “I know. It creeps the hell out of me every time I see it.” Then she leans over to my face. Is she about to kiss me? She whispers, “Please dear God don’t make him angry.” “What?” Then Mr. Wicker runs in the room smiling. “You like it Leonardo?” “Yes.” “And what about that furnace? Neat, huh?” “Truthfully, far from neat.” “I carved it in there to remind people.” “Of what?” “Of what happens.” “To who?” He turns at me. His rock hard scary face reappears. “To sinners.” Yes. “Well, it happens to be that I am Catholic, so I have not a worry.” “Really now? As I recall two years ago yesterday you had for the first time.” “What!?” “Oh no! Don’t doubt it Leo. I know things.” I walk towards him and tilt my head and furrow my eyebrows, “I don’t need nobody talking to me about that. And I think you need to realize that you are in no way my father. At all.” He breathes heavily and backslaps me. I fall to the ground. He squats down and says slowly, “Bad, bad things happen to sinners Leo.”
